Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 debuted Monday, a week before FIFA 16 will be released. Konami, the developer of Pro Evolution Soccer games says that it won't be long before Pro Evolution Soccer will overtake FIFA as the industry leader in soccer simulation games, Game Spot reports.

Pro Evolution Soccer European manager Adam Bhatti said in a new interview that Pro Evolution Soccer will become the best soccer game in the market in the next couple of years.

"We're definitely catching up with FIFA," Bhatti told MCV. "And we have to be respectful about that. We have to keep closing that gap. In a couple of years we'll clearly lead again. But we have to convince a lot of people."

Bhatti noted that Pro Evolution Soccer cannot control, such as the FIFA name and license and different licenses to stadiums and tournaments that FIFA has and Pro Evolution Soccer does not.

"But in terms of presentation [and] visuals, we want to be industry-leading," he said.

A big difference between Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 and FIFA 16 is the inclusion of women's teams in FIFA 16. This is the first time that FIFA has included women's team and players in one of its games.

Soccer fans are already a little angry about the release of Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 for not including the latest rosters. This means on launch day, the game did not have the latest rosters.

The official Pro Evolution Soccer Facebook page addressed the roster updates and told fans it is focusing on improving the online experience for players, Attack of the Fanboy reports.

Hi everyone, we´re aware of fans asking about the roster update coming for PES2016.
We are working very hard to implement them ASAP, however we are currently focusing on ensuring the best possible online experience.
We will update you early next week on the roster updates as well as the upcoming new teams and stadium's future availability.
