Kevin Durant's newest pair of signature KD VIs called "Aunt Pearl" will feature a floral print in honor of Durant's late aunt.

With its floral finish, the shoe is the basketball star's tribute to his aunt and "bestfriend" who encouraged a young Durant to pursue his dreams. According to Nike's website:

Kevin Durant was inseparable with his late Aunt Pearl who passed away from lung cancer in 2000. His bond with her began at a young age and he loved spending time with his aunt watching movies, joking and laughing at his grandma's house in Capitol Heights, Maryland, just outside of Washington, D.C.

Aunt Pearl had a unique ability to reach the sometimes shy Durant as a kid. Her memory lives on as KD keeps her spirit alive. "I made a promise to myself to always honor my Aunt Pearl for the example she set, and the encouragement she gave me to follow my dreams," said Durant.

The shoe seeks to raise awareness in the battle against women's cancers and carries the Kay Yow Cancer Fund logo on its tongue. Proceeds of the special edition shoe will go to the Fund that was founded in 2007.

The limited edition KD VI Supreme Aunt Pearl shoe of Durant is available on February 27 at Nike.com. The 'Aunt Pearl' KD VI will be Twitter Link Only and will be up 6 PM EST rather than standard 8AM. There is also a matching t-shirt and hat that will be available in February. The shoe will also be available in Grade School sizes 4Y-7V for $100.
