Season 6 of "Blue Bloods" is expected to open with a bang and there will be no shortage of drama and mayhem. Episode 1 of the season is titled "Worst Case Scenario" and will air on CBS this Friday, Sept. 25 at 10 p.m. EDT, according to TV Guide.

What is immediately clear for this powerhouse thriller cop drama on CBS is they are not packing punches for the sixth season. The crime and threats are coming from every possible direction.

To start off with the episode, according to Spoilers Guide, Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and Baez (Marisa Ramirez) get caught up in the game of a deadly serial killer, and their attentions focus solely on catching him.

The serial killer sends a disturbing message to Danny that seems to signify he is the next target for his devious plans. That ratchets up the tension for both himself and his partner as they work tirelessly to track down the maniac before he can do any more damage.

As if that wasn't enough for the NYPD, now Frank (Tom Selleck) has his hands full when a major terrorist attack happens abroad, and there is reason enough to believe New York is the next target on the list. The city had already laid out plans on how to deal with any potential attack following 9/11, but there are many variables that could potentially slip through the cracks and that has the whole city on edge.

To top that off, he also gets placed in a bind when a mayoral candidate accuses him of corruption.

Fans will also get to see Erin toying with the idea of applying for a judgeship, for which she is certainly more than qualified.

Eddie also gets put in the position where she comes face-to-face with her estranged father, who ends up in her emergency room.
