Actor Ernie Hudson, along with a few other original cast members, will be coming back to join the cast for the remake of "Ghostbusters," which is due out next July

According to Deadline, Hudson will be joining some former cast members on the remake that will fill out the gender-swapping roles of the original film.

In the original 1984 film, Hudson played the role of Winston, better known as the fourth Ghostbuster, in the pest-removal business that three parapsychology professors set up for the sole purpose of removing ghostly haunts from businesses and homes.

Winston joined the three after the job was advertised and he was looking for a something with steady pay. Fortunately, the three had that to offer him in the bustling office that seemed to experience a sudden boom once they went into business.

There has been no word yet on what role he will be playing in the film. It is still unclear if his original character will be in the film or if he, along with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd, will be in the movie as cameos only, playing different characters.

One thing that is for sure is that nearly all the roles in the remake will be completely gender-reversed, with Chris Hemsworth signing on as their secretary. This is a role that was first made famous by the quick witted and overly stressed Janine, played perfectly by actress Annie Potts who is also rumored to have a cameo.

Hudson has also been a busy actor lately, starring in the Netflix comedy "Grace and Frankie" alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. Deadline also reports that he will be back to star in Season 2 of that series as well, which has no premiere date as of yet.

Fans of the original movie and the new generation will have to wait until next summer to see the trio back in action alongside their new counterparts. The film is set to premiere in theaters on July 15, 2016.
