Amazon is slashing Prime membership prices in celebration for winning five Emmy Awards on Sunday. Interested customers can receive Prime service for $67 for one year, but they will have to act quickly because this deal will only last for one day, CNet reports.

Amazon announced on Tuesday that it will reduce the price of Amazon Prime to $67 for a full year from its normal $99 yearly price. The reduction will only be offered on Friday from 12:00 a.m. EDT to 11:59 p.m. PDT. This deal is only available to new customers of Prime and not to existing subscribers. The deal can be accessed through the Amazon sign-up page.

The special $67 price is in honor of Amazon's original series "Transparent," which received five Emmys on Sunday at the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards show.

The fact that "Transparent" won five Emmys proves that streaming services like Amazon and Netflix are able to create their own quality original series. With award-winning shows, Amazon can convince more users to subscribe to its Prime service to view these programs. Amazon can also distinguish itself from Netflix as a quality streaming service.

Netflix has also won awards for its original series "House of Cards" and "Orange Is the New Black."

"Transparent" is earning excellent reviews from critics. Rotten Tomatoes gave the show a 98 rating (out of 100) and Metacritic gave the show a 91 rating. The second season of "Transparent" will be released on Amazon Prime Video Dec. 4. Amazon also has plans for other new shows and movies in the coming months.

Amazon Prime gives subscribers instant access to Prime Video, free two-day shipping of almost everything sold on the site with no minimums, unlimited music streaming with Prime Music, unlimited photo storage with Prime Photos, and a Kindle Owner's Lending Library with more than 800,000 e-books.

Amazon Video allows Prime members to watch shows like "Transparent" for no extra charge.
