Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor has ended his lengthy holdout and will return to the team on Wednesday.

ESPN reports that Chancellor has ended his two-month contract holdout. The update was first reported when ESPN's "First Take" co-host Stephen A. Smith learned the news via text message from Chancellor. The Seahawks safety told Smith that his "contract situation can wait until after the season is over."

"Imma go help my teammates that are understanding of my position and the ones who aren't," Chancellor said in the text message. "God forgives all, why can't I? Time to help us get back to the big dance. I can address business after the season. Me and Marshawn started a mission 2 years ago. I can't let my Dawg down....Real talk."

As a result of missing the first two games of the regular season, Chancellor forfeited two game checks of $267,647, and it is unknown if the Seahawks will waive Chancellor's fines for skipping training camp. Currently, Chancellor owes the Seahawks $2 million in fines.

The news couldn't be better for the defending NFC champions. They are off to a 0-2 start this season, and their defense has already given up 11 pass plays of 20 or more yards.

Yahoo Sports reports Chancellor signed a four-year, $28 million dollar extension with $17 million in guaranteed money in 2013. He recently asked if he could have some of his 2017 salary moved up to 2016. The Seahawks front office didn't budge.

With Chancellor in the lineup, the Seahawks defense can be very tough to beat. Chancellor is a three-time Pro Bowler. He is one of the key players who led the Seahawks to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances.

National Insider for NFL.com Ian Rapoport tweeted out the news, saying that Chancellor returning to Seattle was a "football decision":

If all goes well, expect to see Chancellor starting Sunday at home against the Chicago Bears.
