Rob Zombie, Mila Kunis Team Up For New Horror-Comedy TV Series
Mila Kunis has teamed up with horror genius Rob Zombie to blend their respective genres together on a TV series. This will fall under the leadership of Orchard Farm Productions, owned by Kunis.
According to Deadline, the new TV series will be a horror-comedy show that will take the most extreme aspects of each genre and put them into play for a show will likely air on premium cable network Starz.
Although there are many different routes they could choose for a project like this, the two have opted for the pitch of Joey Slamon, who created and wrote the show. Slamon is best known for his work on "Arrested Development."
The show will be titled "Trapped," and Zombie will be serving as the director for the project. It is also a theme right out of one of Zombie's playbooks.
The show will focus on a wealthy family who are essentially trapped in their home for a night of unspeakable horrors. Of course, according to the description for the show, all the episodes of the series will take place over a single night as they are under siege by an ominous cult.
For fans of Zombie's previous works, they know all to well no matter how much comedy is inserted into the series, the horror itself will be merciless and give viewers an unnerving sense of dread, which has been present in all of his films.
Zombie has had several horror flicks to his credit, which includes "House of 1,000 Corpses," "The Devil's Rejects," "Halloween," "Halloween II" and "Lords of Salem."
Kunis is best known for her work in comedy, in which she started out as the spoiled brat in "That 70s Show" and the lonely teenager Meg in "Family Guy." She also put out a dramatic performance in the 2010 dark film "The Black Swan."
There has been no word yet as to when the show will start production or be released on the Starz.
