Usher Secretly Marries Manager Grace Miguel, Honeymoons in Cuba
R&B singer and "The Voice" coach Usher married his manager, Grace Miguel, who has been his fiancée since December.
E! News reported on Thursday that Fulton County, Georgia, courts records confirm that Usher, whose real name is Usher Raymond IV, and Miguel indeed married and their marriage certificate was filed this month.
Usher lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
Us Weekly reported on Wednesday the couple eloped over Labor Day weekend to marry and spent their honeymoon in Havana, Cuba.
The singer's longtime romantic and business partner shared their honeymoon photos taken in Cuba on her Instagram account. In one collage, Usher's gold wedding band can be seen in an image of him and Miguel in which he's holding a camera.
On Wednesday, the singer was spotted wearing the wedding ring in Beverly Hills, according to E!
While the two have tried to keep their relationship private, the "Good Kisser" singer has talked highly of his partner in life.
"I have an incredible partner and manager," he told Billboard magazine late last year. "She has helped me through some of the hardest times in my life and my career."
He said that she's "someone who's been able to support and understand all of who I am" beyond his career as a singer or dancer. She understands him "as a humanitarian and a business man and as a person."
Madame Noire reports that Miguel used to be the executive chef on the set of "The Cosby Show," but once the show ended in 1992, she decided to change her career. She began a new career as a publicist in the music industry. It has been speculated she met Usher through her publicity work.
Usher, 36, and the Brooklyn native have been in a relationship since 2009.
This is Usher's second marriage. He was previously married to stylist Tameka Raymond from 2007 to 2009. She is the mother of his sons Usher V, 7, and Naveid Ely, 6.
