Months after former "19 Kids and Counting" star Josh Duggar's cheating scandal, TLC network announced Thursday it is resuming an on-air relationship with his sisters, Jill Duggar Dillard and Jessa Duggar Seewald, for at least two television specials.

"What we will be following in these specials is Jessa preparing for her first child," Nancy Daniels, TLC's executive vice president and general manager, told the Associated Press. "And we'll be watching Jill preparing to make a major move to Central America with her family, which we know is something our audience will be interested in."

Daniels said that the network's audience has continued to be interested in the lives of Jill and Jessa "as they move into young adulthood." Since both women are preparing for major life changes, the network felt it was the right time to bring back the Duggar sisters in TV specials, she said.

Jessa and her husband are expecting their baby on Nov. 1 -- something that "19 Kids and Counting" fans are very excited about.

Production on the specials is scheduled to begin soon with an estimated airdate by the end of this year, the network said.

"We are looking forward to reconnecting with everyone with the new specials on TLC -- many have asked about our mission work and about the challenges of taking our family to a different country, culture and learning a new language," Derick wrote on Instagram Thursday. "We appreciate your prayers."

TLC canceled the Duggar family's "19 Kids and Counting" reality TV show after reports of past sexual abuse by Josh Duggar surfaced. Josh had admitted to sexually molesting five underage girls as a teen, including Jessa and Jill.

Jill and Jessa most recently participated in a sex abuse special, "Breaking the Silence" that aired on TLC in August.

The sisters, who participated in the special with their mother, Michelle Duggar, received fan backlash because they never mentioned Josh's name and allegedly downplayed the sexual abuse that happened in their family's household.
