'Avengers 3: Infinity Wars' News: Wesley Snipes Muses Over Blade Joining the Team
Wesley Snipes wants to be in the next Avengers film.
The actor, who has portrayed the Marvel hero Blade in two films, would like to see the character team with the Avengers.
In a recent article with the Huffington Post, the actor said, "That would be interesting. I mean, I know it's in the comic book. It would be interesting to see where they would place him and where he really would fit in. He's got to bite somebody. I don't know who he's going to bite."
This is not the first time the Snipes talks about the possibility of a possible spinoff. Back in July the actor said that he had been in talks with the studio, but it is still not sure of what it wanted to do.
"There's always a possibility, you know," Snipes said.
"It's in Marvel's hands. They're controlling the pace and the flow with that. Conversations have been good. They see the value in it. We see the value in it. I'm still in shape enough and fit enough to handle the role. We'll see how it goes. I don't really know what's going to happen to it yet."
And the rumors don't end there as recent rumors have confirmed Marvel was thinking of restarting the Blade franchise and making a new movie. There is no confirmation, however, on whether or not Marvel plans on making it.
The Blade character is popular in comics, and in the original storyline the character has fought many times alongside various members of the Avengers. He even took part in the Mighty Avengers and took the name of Ronin.
The character is not technically part of the Avengers, but he joined once in the Ultimate comics. In that edition he helped Nick Fury try and stop a vampire invasion. The Avengers are not currently going in that direction as the story is headed toward the infinity stones.
The next Avengers film is slated for release in 2018.
