Becky G Album News: Singer Reveals Debut Album Will Have Latin Influences
Singer Becky G, who is currently working on her debut album, revealed in an interview on Tuesday that the album has a Latin side with plenty of dance songs.
While talking to Marie Claire, the Mexican-American singer revealed what her upcoming debut will sound like.
"Sonically the way it sounds is more pop-leaning, but it has that urban element. There's a Latin side to some of those tracks as well," the 18-year-old said. "As far as the writing goes, there are more bangers in there, but club-y type songs that make you want to dance. That's me as a person. I'm always super happy, so there's going to be lots of energy."
The singer also added that the album will include a few heartfelt songs with a lot more storytelling. While she will sing about some topics from personal experiences, the singer said other tracks are drawn from friends and family members.
Currently, the "Break A Sweat" star is on tour with reggaeton artist J Balvin on the "La Familia" tour. She has shared several images from her performance with J Balvin, as well as a few videos, where she shows off her dance skills, on Instagram.

While the star's music is in English, she isn't shy about her Latin roots, acknowledging how those influences affect her music.
"Showing off my Latin roots is natural because growing up it was part of my everyday life-in the music that we listened to at home, the food that we cooked, the novelas that I watched with my mom and grandma," the young star explained. "So when it comes to my music, it's natural and genuine. But it's really cool to see how people react to it and how they get introduced to it, and then see similarities within their culture."
