Phoenix Suns forward Markieff Morris has expressed his unhappiness with the organization since July after the trade of his twin, Marcus to the Detroit Pistons last summer. It was a cost-cutting move by the Suns at that time as they were trying to sign LaMarcus Aldridge, who eventually chose the San Antonio Spurs.

After a frustrating offseason that included a trade demand, Markieff seems to be in a good mood during the Suns' media day, even saying that he wants to stay in Phoenix. "I want to be here," Morris told the media via NBA.com.

He was asked about on all the things that were said during the offseason in which he ripped the Suns front office and doing nothing with the organization. "I don't really want to talk about what happened this summer," he answered.

"I just really want to look forward to this up and coming season and glad to be back with my teammates, glad to be back with my team," Morris added.

In an interview by the Philadelphia Inquirer last August, Markieff said that he was sure that he was not going to be in Phoenix. "One thing for sure, I am not going to be there. If you want to put that out there, you can put that out. I don't give a [expletive]. I am not going to be there at all. That's just what it is," the 26-year-old said.

The NBA fined him $10,000 for his statements during the offseason and was supposed to lose more money if he continued the holdout. Morris stayed in Phoenix after his court date for his assault case, working out at Grand Canyon University rather than at the Suns' facility, as reported by AZ Central.

He also reported to the team during the medical testing before media day. It was not a surprise that he showed up during the media as the former Kansas Jayhawk told the Philadelphia Inquirer that he was a professional when in handling his situation. "I've got to show up. No question. You can't do that. I will be a professional," he said.

With the Suns not giving in on his trade demand, Morris praised his teammates and hoped that they would make the playoffs this season. "The ultimate goal is to make the playoffs. It's not about me. It's about my teammates and the organization. I'm just looking forward to a great year and hopefully we can make the playoffs this year," the 6'9 forward told reporters as quoted by AZ Central.

Last season, he averaged 15.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 steals, which were all career highs, per Basketball-Reference.com.
