'Red Dead Redemption' PC Edition Rumors: Dev Says Open World Game Was Only Created for Xbox 360 & PS3
Rockstar Games recently revealed that despite developing "Red Dead Redemption" for PC, the famed game developer never considered releasing the game for PC. In fact, it was designed to fittingly play on consoles such as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
According to Gamespot, Kris Roberts of Rockstar Games was also surprised that the "Grand Theft Auto" made it to PC after a short period of 18 months from its console debut. In his statement on a Twitch livestream, Roberts said, "I don't think there was ever an intention to have a PC version of 'Red Dead Redemption' I was actually super shocked that they did a PC version of Grand Theft Auto V."
Now that Kris Roberts has relinquished his ties with Rockstar Games, the possibility of "Red Dead Redemption" coming to PC may not be far and impossible. Like it was, "Grand Theft Auto V" was able to make a breakthrough. This time around, the beloved game might be in the process of getting integrated to a PC version. "Red Dead Redemption" was first released in 2010, and, since then, players have hoped it will eventually find its way to PC gaming platforms. To this day, it hasn't been made a reality.
Crave Online revealed that "Red Dead Redemption" is among the top games ever desired by players in their consoles. This is why PC gamers is not losing hope that one day, the beloved game will eventually mark their way to PC.
After "Grand Theft Auto V," which is also under Rockstar Games, made its way to the PC, the possibility of "Red Dead Redemption" coming to PC also is not that impossible. However, some PC gamers have reluctant views where Rockstar is concerned because of the latter's unimpressive consideration on putting some of their games on the PC platform. Aside from this, the fact that games that were actually intended for PC took longer to release than those for the consoles.
Right now, Rockstar has not given an official statement or even hinted that "Red Dead Redemption" might or might not come to PCs, but with the current games slowly transforming to be integrated with the PC platform, it's too early to rule out the possibility.
Rockstar does not publicly reveal their stance on PC games and what qualifies for them to create such game for the said platform. Players will have to wait and anticipate that the next game might be designed for all gaming platforms
