Robert Englund, known for portraying Freddy Krueger in the "Nightmare on Elm Street" franchise, was recorded talking about the future of the franchise and his possible involvement.

A fan of the series of films videotaped himself meeting the legendary actor at what appeared to a convention and dished a few questions to him that got the actor to speak up about what he wants to see for the franchise in the future.

Englund downplayed the potential success for a remake and more or less talked about the franchise moving forward with either more sequels, or with more crossovers, such as a "Freddy vs. Michael Myers" film.

Englund reprised his role of Freddy Krueger for the 2003 crossover film "Freddy vs. Jason," and fans came out in drones to see the first matchup of what they considered to be the most legendary characters in the horror movie industry to that date.

That film saw a moderate amount of commercial success, and since that time, both franchises have been remade.

In another video posted by the fan, he also spoke about the legacy of Freddy Krueger in pop culture and what it was about him that scared audiences so much.

"You can imagine Freddy to be anything you want," Englund said. "My theory is the word 'child killer,' there's something darkly, darkly poetic about that. It's a very frightening phrase. Child killer! That should be enough."

He said that he obviously can't remake the films he's already made, but he would move forward with a prequel, a sequel or a crossover event, should the opportunity present itself. It was the word prequel that really caught his attention though, seeming to be more enthused about exploring the dark beginnings of the character, which were lightly touched upon in the original series of films.
