To heighten anticipation for its upcoming action-adventure open world game, Avalanche Studios recently released a behind the scenes developer video of "Just Cause 3."

The two-minute video features the game's senior character artist Make Knowland explaining the meticulous process of building a character from the ground up, starting with digital sculpting all the way through grayscaling and texturing.

For fans wanting a glimpse of the game's environment, junior environment artist Jesse Bonelli shows viewers how pieces of the "Just Cause 3" world are created to be modular, using one of the game's military base as an example. The video also offers a look at how parts of the fictional world are built.

Speculation on the game began late last year when Game Informer released its December 2014 magazine issue that featured a "Just Cause 3" cover, which showed Rico Rodriguez flaunting his signature grappling hook.

Since then, fans have been excited to take on the role of the South American secret once more after almost five long years.

The "Just Cause" series is famous for its mix of tropical environments, open-world exploration and explosive stunts. "Just Cause 3" promises to uphold much of the series' core gameplay but with more design and technical improvements.

This was demonstrated on the game's first gameplay teaser which was posted on YouTube on April 2015 by "Just Cause 3" distributor Square Enix. The gameplay teaser revealed the game's over-the-top intensity and destruction.

Fans of the previous two "Just Cause" games should feel at home with the series' upcoming sequel. Apart from staying true to what made its predecessors so enjoyable, "Just Cause 3" will feature random events reminiscent of the "Saints Row" games, although not as absurd. Moreover, enemies will be smarter in Rodriguez's third adventure, making the game the most challenging in the series, Game Rant reported.

"Just Cause 3" is set in the vibrant and fictional Mediterranean island of Medici, Rodriguez's hometown. Gamers have to make use of various weapons, vehicles and a bit of ingenuity to topple the regime of the ruthless dictator General Di Ravello.

"Just Cause 3" will launch for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Dec. 1, 2015.

According to the game's Steam page, a DLC pass for "Just Cause 3" known as the "Air, Land, and Sea Expansion Pass" is also on offer for $25.

Even though Square Enix has yet to confirm the game's DLC, the listing indicated that it will feature three expansion packs, which will probably be themed around air, land, and sea. The DLC is said to carry an exclusive "Flame Wingsuit" for Rodriguez as well as some "Parachute Skins". It will also add new missions, weapons, vehicles, gadgets, and enemies to the base game.
