"Fallout 4" is almost out and fans can hardly wait to get their hands on Bethesda's upcoming post-apocalyptic RPG. To satiate their appetites for the time being, a free mod for "Fallout: New Vegas" dubbed "Autumn Leaves" is set to be launched on Thursday, Oct. 1.

According to a report from Game Rant, the "Autumn Leaves" has been in the works for four years. It's not difficult to believe as the new quest mod is a massive undertaking that plays like an unofficial DLC with eight quests, over 2,000 lines of dialogue and multiple endings. It features over seven hours of game play, and it even has its original soundtrack from Pablo Coma, who composed "Healer's Quest."

In the Tumblr account of creator called Baron Von Chateau, he described the unofficial expansion as "a fully-voiced adventure with a heavy focus on plot and investigation."

"In Autumn Leaves, the player will discover a derelict library inhabited by six sentient machines, each with their own back-story and agency," he wrote on Tumblr. "What happens from that point will depend on the player's decisions."

The intro video released last week offered a peek in the compelling new mod, explaining the backstory of the game and showcasing the pro-level quality that can be expected from the release.

"Walk the Mojave one last time and discover the mysteries of the Library of Hypatia," the description on the video read.

The new mod should satisfy the fans of the game ahead of the "Fallout 4" release. The upcoming "Fallout" installment is one of the most anticipated games of the season, especially because of new details being divulged by Bethesda as the launch nears. As soon as it is released, fans will be rushing to get a copy immediately and they don't have to worry about flimsy content that's not designed to last.

"Hundreds and hundreds of hours, none of us has counted," Pete Hines, vice president of PR and Marketing for Bethesda Softworks, assured in an interview with Express. "It's a huge world with tons of content, you don't have to worry about that," he added.

While the storyline for the upcoming RPG has not yet been revealed, a report from Neuro Gadget has plenty of details for players who plan to pick up the game. Xbox One gamers should have 28GB of free space to install "Fallout 4" while the file size for PlayStation 4 has not yet been confirmed. The community can look forward to free updates including new patches and features in the future.

"Fallout 4" for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC is set for release on Nov. 10. A first expansion is already being planned for release in early 2016.
