Based on the success of the first Kombat Pack, which allowed Mortal Kombat X players to enjoy four extra characters as downloadable content (DLC), four more characters will be coming to the game soon.

The first set of DLC characters was available through a $30 season pass, initially just called Kombat Pack and then re-named Kombat Pack 1. Players could either buy the season pass or buy the characters individually for about $6 each.

A second $30 season pass is coming soon, called Kombat Pack 2, which will add four additional playable characters, as well as character skins.

Since the announcement, players have been trying to guess the next four characters to be added to the game. Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has only provided a shadowy image of the fighters, along with the tagline, "Who's Next?"

According to PlayStation Universe, there are a few likely options for who might be added next.

Smoke was a popular character in 2011's Mortal Kombat, but is missing in Mortal Kombat X. Smoke has powerful moves and is a dominant character that should be playable. He appears briefly in the game during a faction kill, but is not selectable for players. Adding Smoke as a playable character would be pretty easy, and it would make sense.

Spawn would be a good external character to add to Mortal Kombat X. The game has already added characters from movies through the first Kombat Pack, so adding Spawn is definitely possible. Spawn creator Todd McFarlane has already given Mortal Kombat X publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment permission to use Spawn in the game. However, McFarlane did say that he would limit the time that he would allow Spawn in the game, which means the decision must be made soon.

Baraka first appeared in Mortal Kombat 2, and fans of the series would recognize him. Baraka has bladed arms, a rage-filled personality and razor-sharp teeth. He can be found in the story mode for Mortal Kombat X as an opponent that players run into. This means that adding him into the game as a playable character would not require much effort.

Kombat Pack 2 is due to be released for Mortal Kombat X sometime in early 2016.
