It will, literally, be the role of his lifetime... if it turns out to be true, of course. Even though JJ Abrams isn't confirming or denying anything -- despite promises to be less tight-lipped about the updates on Episode 7 -- it looks like there's a strong possibility that former High School Musical star Zac Efron will be playing Jacen Solo/Darth Caedus!

Yahoo News has the scoop: the rumors about the casting have been swirling about for a quick minute, but at the Academy Awards, when Efron stopped to talk to Ryan Seacrest, he played it extra coy when it came to the casting...so you know that that sparked a whole mess of "it's him, it's him, it's him!" speculation!

"Is it true?" Efron said when asked whether he was involved in Star Wars VII. "I don't even know yet." But he briefly added: "I guess the force is with me tonight."

Meanwhile, according to HNGN, Adam Driver of Girls is also confirmed for a "villaneous" role... though as of right now, that role is unspecified. "Warner Bros. had been seeking Driver to star in the Green Hat Films production 'Arms and the Dudes,' but the actor was reluctant to commit knowing that he stood a strong chance for a lead role in 'Star Wars.' Driver was forced to turn down a supporting role in 'Batman vs. Superman' for the same reason," the site reports. "I believe Cumberbatch and Oldman were pursued for the same role, but I don't know how that will work out with the script changes, but I'm told they are both involved."

Now, if you ask this writer, when someone turns down a guaranteed starring role in what is sure to be a blockbuster (never mind your thoughts on Ben Affleck... facts are facts), it's because you have something big lined up for yourself... and what bigger than Star Wars?!
