Samsung Galaxy S4 & iPhone 5s Case, Price, Jailbreak & Review: Wal-Mart Drops iPhone, Galaxy S4 Prices
The iPhone 5s is finally becoming a more affordable option after several months on the shelves at Apple stores and other retail outlets.
The popular smartphone is now down to $119 at Wal-Mart, which is so far the only outlet to offer a price cut for its iPhone 5s consumers.
Wal-Mart also slashed the price of the Samsung Galaxy S4 to $49 but this was expected after the recent release of the Galaxy S5.
The price cut could be key for Wal-Mart in luring consumers into contracts as the retailer said that the discount only applies to people who will be getting a two-year contract attached to their purchase, regardless of whether it is the iPhone 5s or the Samsung Galaxy S4.
The Galaxy S4 price drop might be the better option because Wal-Mart is also offering a $50 store gift card to anyone who purchases the Galaxy phone between March 9 and March 22.
The price cut also could be a hint of things to come for Apple since it has now been a half year since the company has released a smartphone. It is widely expected that Apple will come out with a new iPhone in 2014 and many reports have indicated that the company could end up with two new phones by the end of the calendar year. Among many other changes, the new iPhone is expected to have a larger screen than its predecessor even though the company already introduced a larger screen when it came out with the iPhone 5, which boasts a longer but not wider screen than the 4s.
The iPhone 5s and 5c are popular for different reasons, which is reflected in the price for both phones. The 5c came out at only $99 and users loved the variety of colorful cases available. Both phones are also popular for the iOS 7 Jailbreak option that allows users to have more freedom with the device.
What do you think about the iPhone 5s and Samsung Galaxy S4? Is the S4 still a viable option or should Samsung users hop on the Samsung Galaxy S5 bandwagon? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
