Quantico' Season 1 Episode 2 Recap: The Terrorist Hunt
The mystery continues in Episode 2 of "Quantico."
In between the flash-forward scenes, the identities of each FBI agent hopeful are slowly being questioned. Everyone is not who they seem to be and this includes Alex Parish (Priyanka Chopra), who is suspected of being a terrorist and is on the run from her FBI colleagues.
Episode 2 of "Quantico," titled "America," starts with the FBI van crash scene with Parish, dressed as an FBI agent, still inside. Then begins a flashback scene of each FBI agent candidates being questioned about why they want to be in the FBI academy. As each hopeful gets questioned, viewers are also given a glimpse at their secret identities.
There's a scene of Simon (Tate Ellington) picking out glasses, breaking one pair and then putting them back together so he can wear them. Next is Shelby (Johanna Braddy) who deletes an Arabic contact from her phone. Then there's Nathalie (Anabelle Acosta) looking at the mirror to make sure her fake scar is still intact. "America" also confirmed the Nimah twins (Yasmine Elmasri) are undercover in the academy by Miranda (Aunjanue Ellis).
According to Entertainment Weekly, Parish's interview is something worth remembering. She says she chose to be in the academy because she wants to protect the country at all cost. Outside the room, Liam (Josh Hopkins) tells Ryan (Jake McLaughlin) that Parish is his target, whom he needs to gain her trust.
Week 2 into the FBI academy training and Ryan still has yet to get Parish's trust. There are scenes of them in awkward run-ins in the bathroom and on the race track. Viewers are basically taken through the motions of physical trainings inside the academy. They were also tasked to investigate a reconstructed scene where a real terrorist crime was planned using their clues. But it was her instincts that made Parish the only person to crack the investigation.
Flash forward six months after their training. Parish is on the run from her fellow FBI agents after she was accused of being a terrorist and shooting Ryan at her apartment. After escaping the van accident, Parish finds a way to sort the confusion herself.
She goes to her apartment and realizes she's been framed for the terrorist bombing. The adjacent room to hers is filled with bombs addressed to her apartment. While scouting for further clues, Parish gets into a fight with Nathalie who refused to believe that Parish is innocent.
She manages to escape and finds a way to talk to Ryan, who is lying in the hospital wounded and tries to convince him of her innocence. Ryan promises to keep the FBI off her trail but in turn would have to make it look like she's guilty. Liam turns up at the hospital and asks who shot him and he says that Parish did. Parish is officially a terrorist on the run and wanted by the FBI.
