On Friday, March 7 2014, the five day SXSW 2014 interactive festival will begin at more than ten different venues across Texas, continuing until March 16. Some people believe that all of the best content among the more than 800 set ups will occur in the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas. However, this is not entirely true: In fact, top notch content is evenly distributed throughout the 2014 venue system. As an example, Jeremiah Johnston, the long serving General Counsel of Sedo will talk about the new TLDs in a session named "The Discussion's Over: New Domains Are Here." The discussion will be held at 12:30 p.m. CST on Monday, March 10.

Most of the venues are located within easy walking distance of each other. Some important to know venues are the northernmost venues for SXSW festival 2014: Palmer Events Center (home of the SXSW Gaming Expo) and the Long Center (host to gaming-related content, as well as SXSW Create). Tickets have been on sale and prices are not refundable.

In last year's 2013 expo, the SXSW interactive festival celebrated its 20-year anniversary and the total number of registrants topped out at just above thirty thousand. Research has shown that the companies who participated in the festival have received over $587 million in funding. 2013 was the first year for the Gaming Expo, which was previously known as ScreenBurn.

SXSW interactive festival was launched in 1994 for the very first time. The festival included a trade show, speakers, parties, and a startup accelerator. In the first 21 years of the festival, there have been a lot of changes and it covered a number of topics throughout that period. The company has been successful to enjoy the marvelous growth of the festival both in terms of quantity of registrants and the quality of experience for festival goers. Regardless of all the changes that occurred during the 2 decades, the commitment of the company to innovation, inspiration, and creativity has remained consistent.
