Emma Stone Featured in Will Butler’s ‘Anna’ Music Video
Emma Stone is the shining star of Will Butler's new video for "Anna," which is featured on his debut solo album "Policy."
The actress is featured in the clip, directed by Brantley Gutierrez, dancing around the famous Queen Mary ship, according to Rolling Stone.
In the highly polished video, Stone is adorned in several white ensembles as she prances around the ship. Various scenes see her performing quirky dance moves, choreographed by Ryan Heffington, who is known for his dance work in Sia's "Chandelier," as well as Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson's rebooted video for "Say Say Say."
Some of the sillier segments in the video see Stone bopping around with the crewmen on the ship and grabbing money from anonymous hands reaching out from cabin doors. At one point, she also jams out a solo on an invisible piano.
Butler, a multi-instrumentalist and one of Arcade Fire's core members, released "Policy" back in March. He describes the offering as "American music -- in the tradition of the Violent Femmes, the Breeders, the Modern Lovers, Bob Dylan, Smokey Robinson, the Magnetic Fields, Ghostface Killah. And John Lennon (which counts)."
In promoting his new LP, Butler collaborated with The Guardian, as he wrote and recorded five new songs based on news headlines. The tracks included "Clean Monday" inspired by the fraught Greek economy; "Waving Flags" about Ukrainian separatists; "You Must Be Kidding" about the São Paulo water debacle; "Madonna Can't Save Me Now" about a black hole; and "Waters of Babylon" about ISIS.
Arcade Fire just released the deluxe digital edition of their 2013 album "Reflektor." The reissue includes six new tracks. They will also be releasing a limited edition cassette version titled "The Reflektor Tapes," which will be available Oct. 16.
Emma Stone is currently filming the comedy "La La Land," which also stars Ryan Gosling and Finn Wittrock. The film is scheduled for release on July 15, 2016.
