If it seems like One Direction is doing well after Zayn Malik's shocking exit, that's because they are.

They all are, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson revealed during an interview with Good Morning Britain. According to a report from Mirror, the band members were candid in explaining the reason for Malik's sudden departure from One Direction and why it worked out well for everyone after all.

"One Direction was never Zayn's kind of bag if you know what I mean," Payne explained during the interview. "His taste in music was always a bit different which I guess is what kind of drove him to do what he did in the end - which is not necessarily a bad thing."

"Everyone has come out fine from it thanks to our beautiful fans," he continued. "Zayn is doing what he loves as well. I think both parties are winners in the end after a disastrous situation. So it's all good."

It was a disastrous situation when Malik left, breaking fans' hearts in the process, but the boys took it in stride with their upcoming album "Made in the A.M." and a number of singles that have already found success.

However, One Direction's loyal fanbase will have to experience an even bigger heartbreak soon as the band is planning to take a hiatus next year. The world will have to get used to seeing them apart in the meantime as Payne, Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Niall Horan will be pursuing solo careers in different fields like music, television and DJing.

"It feels like we're leaving school," Tomlinson said. "But we will still see plenty of each other. We are actually planning a little lads' holiday."

In a previous report from Latin Post, some of the members already assured the public that they don't plan to make the break-up a permanent one. However, the boys are also unwilling to provide a concrete timeframe of their upcoming hiatus as of now.

"I can't say exactly how long the break will be because we don't want to put pressure on ourselves by putting a time limit on it," Tomlinson explained.

This is cause for anxiety for some fans as the band could end up disbanding for a multitude of reasons such as conflicting schedules and solo opportunities. Tomlinson addressed the concern saying there's nothing to worry about.

He said, "We are really appreciating every show we do now, every single moment. But this isn't the end of One Direction."
