Golden Globe award-winning actress Kate Hudson finally spoke about her split with "Muse" front man Matthew Bellamy after a quiet separation in 2014.

Sitting for an interview with Allure, the romance-comedy film queen admitted that she and her former fiancé failed to compromise with each other and had different directions of how they wanted to live their lives. The actress admitted that they had a rough relationship that forced them to give up their engagement.

"Relationships ending are painful, and you can choose to carry that or you can choose to reframe it," Hudson told Allure. "If Matt and I had a great relationship, we would still be together, but we chose to move on because we had different visions of how we wanted to live our lives,"

The two had been engaged for four years until they publicized their relationship's demise on December 2014.

According to ET Online, the British rocker and "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days" actress started their romance in 2010 and a year after, on April 2011, the pair got engaged. Three months after their engagement, Hudson got pregnant with their now 4-year-old son, Bingham Hawn Bellamy. Hudson also shares a child, 11-year-old Ryder, with "The Black Crowes" singer Chris Robinson.

But even though the two had split, Hudson said they still wanted what's the best for their kids. "That doesn't mean, though, that we can't rebuild something that would be the best thing for the kids," Hudson added.

The 36-year-old actress also said that despite their break-up, they still make sure that they never lose connection just for the kids. The former couple had tried to create new things for their kids so that they will make sure that they will feel like they are gaining something, despite their parents split, rather than losing something.

Luckily, the actress said that this communication with her former fiancé has done well for her little tots and said that their split has been a seamless transition.

"Kids just want to see their parents be cool. Everybody's cool; everybody's good," the actress said.

Since her split with the British rock star, Hudson has been linked to several men. According to Classicalite, the actress has been reportedly seeing "Dodgeball" comedian Joel David Moore but the fling was said to be short-lived because Kate gets "bored" easily. Meanwhile, Bellamy was reported to be seeing "Blurred Lines" girl Elle Evans.
