An update for the Sony A7R II firmware is arriving next week. Version 2.0 of the camera firmware will bring in two new additional features.

The tech giant announced via its official blog site that Sony A7RII firmware will be available for download starting Oct. 19. According to the Sony blog, one of the highlights of this new firmware version is the capacity to capture uncompressed 14-bit RAW images to the Sony A7R II camera.

Once the camera gets the firmware update, users can pick the option to use the uncompressed RAW capture capacity from the menu system. It will be a selectable feature that Sony A7R II users should easily find.

Furthermore, it is also noted in the announcement that the Sony A7R II firmware update will bring in the capacity for the camera to "output video via HDMI during use of the Remote Camera Control software." This allows capturing images remotely when the camera is connected to a computer.

Made available in August, the full-frame interchangeable lens camera Sony A7R II is currently available with a price tag of $3,200. Those who are interested to purchase the camera can visit Sony's official online store or head to the nearest authorized dealers.

ISO can extend up to 102400. Moreover, users can expect a better Autofocus as Sony claims that its response can be 40% snappier than the original model of the A7R.

Users can also enjoy the highest viewfinder magnification of 0.78x available in the market, with Sony A7R II's XGA OLED Tru-finder.

The President of Sony Electronics, Mike Fasulo, shared that the company "continues to deliver game-changing imaging products that are changing the way imaging enthusiasts, hobbyists and professionals can see and capture the world."

Meanwhile, for the video, it can shoot and record 4K video in different formats, such as Super35mm, as well as full frame. It also has a five-axis image stabilization system.
