Sony introduces its Ultimate 4K Home Theater Projector. The latest offering will be available next year.

The announcement of Sony's freshest projector model took place at CEDIA 2015. A worldwide showcase of "the future home experience," the event is currently happening in Dallas, at Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center and is set to end tomorrow, Oct. 17.

According to Sony's official blog site, the tech giant's first projector that is created particularly for home cinema offers 4K resolution with its laser-powered engine offering 5000 lumens of brightness. The newest projector with model number VPL - W5000ES is "truly the ultimate home cinema display," said the director for Home Entertainment & Sound for Sony Electronics, Yamato Tanikawa.

With the powerful resolution capacity of the projector, users can expect an "immersive viewing experience." Projecting high brightness and high contrast, the Sony Ultimate 4K Home Theater Projector is set to take the users to the next level when it comes to home theater experience.

As of now, Sony remains to be the sole manufacturer of projectors suited for home theaters that are capable of full 4k resolution. Moreover, "Sony's advanced SXRD panels are designed to produce outstanding native device contrast and when coupled with the laser light engine, the VPL-VW5000ES provides an infinite dynamic contrast ratio and 5,000 lumens of color light output."

In addition to its laser light engine and its 4k resolution, the Sony Ultimate 4K Home Theater Projector offers compatibility with High Dynamic Range or HDR. Moreover, it covers the entire DCI color space and "emulates the new BT.2020 color gamut," the post further read.

The Sony VPL - W5000ES is priced at $60000. The high-end Sony projector's release date is currently scheduled for Spring of 2016.

Meanwhile, Twice reported that Sony also introduced other new 4K projectors with cheaper price tag. One of the upcoming models is the VPL - VW665ES model, a lamp-based projector that offers HDR compatibility. It uses SXRD panels and features HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.

Moreover, this projector offers 300,000:1 dynamic contrast and a lamp life that could last for 6000 hours. The projector will be available this month and it comes with a $14,999 price tag.

The cheapest is worth $2799 and it is set to arrive in spring. With model number ZA5000E AVR from the E - Series, this model also "supports 4K 60 fps (4:4:4) video passthrough and distributes 4K video and multichannel audio simultaneously to two zones."
