In the Season 13, Episode 5 airing of "NCIS," Abby Sciutto (Pauley Perrette) is taken hostage while conducting a murder investigation.

According to TV Guide, the "Lockdown"-entitled episode finds the crew member paying a visit to a pharmaceutical lab and interviewing a physician about the homicide case when a band of armed men storm the building, leaving her trapped inside and with no communication to the outside world.

What follows is fans "getting to see a different side of Abby" as she desperately tries her hand at negotiating with the bandits for the safe release of all the hostages. The whole drama-filled nightmare is reported to spark much emotion for both Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and Special Agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray).

The previous episode also found the still-adjusting Gibbs thrust into the spotlight as he took to the field alongside Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) to investigate the baffling murder of Navy Seaman Apprentice Brian Dokes, who is suspected of committing a convenience store robbery using a fake hand grenade just before his death.

Initially thought to have died in a car accident, investigators soon changed their tune after discovering someone has intentionally gouged out the eyes of the mysterious serviceman. Over the course of the investigation, Gibbs comes face to face with a former agent he once jailed for stealing drugs and money from the department's evidence locker.

Former NFL star and current "The NFL Today" analyst Tony Gonzalez guest stars in the "Lockdown" episode as NCIS Special Agent Tony Francis.

"NCIS" airs on CBS on Tuesday, Oct. 20. The series also stars Michael Weatherly as Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo, Emily Wickersham as Emily Bishop, Cote de Pablo as Ziva David and Sasha Alexander as Caitlin Todd.
