If you already have "Titanfall", or if you have read our previous article, you're probably aware that the game requires around 48GB of space to install on the PC. But don't let this huge requirement intimidate you from playing the game.

Richard Baker, Respawn's lead engineer, recently spoke with Eurogamer and explained the reason behind the game's large installation size. According to him, it has a lot to do with the audio components. To be exact, the game contains 35GB of uncompressed audio.

He said, "Basically when you download the game or the disc itself, it's a lot smaller than that. We have audio we either download or install from the disc, then we uncompress it."

"We probably could have had audio decompress off disc but we were a little worried about min spec and the fact that a two-core machine would dedicate a huge chunk of one core to just decompressing audio," Baker continued, "So...it's almost all audio. On a higher PC it wouldn't be an issue. On a medium or moderate PC, it wouldn't be an issue, it's that two-core [machine] with our min spec is, we couldn't dedicate those resources to audio."

As Gamespot pointed out, the reason why Respawn used uncompressed audio in the game is so that it would be able to run smoothly on PC units with minimum specs.

In fact, as compared to other famous games, the minimum requirements of "Titanfall" are lighter.
