Amanda Holden got candid with her views on animal rights during Tuesday's live episode of "This Morning." The show host got into a heated argument about the freedom and safety of lions during her interview with UK's last lion tamer Thomas Chipperfield.

The argument started after Chipperfield tried to "kiss" the lion he's featured on the show only to receive a growl in response. "This Morning" co-host Phillip Schofiel then asked why the lion is not free to roam or in a zoo since clearly the wild animal did not "love" the treatment Chipperfield gave. Chipperfield then blamed the production crew for not giving him an advance notice about the interview and that's when Holden cut in to share her concerns about the animal's wellbeing.

In the video below, Holden is heard arguing over the proper habitat of the lions. In response to Scholfiel's question, the 44-year old got vocal about the rights of the wild animals to be put back in their natural habitat.

"The argument is that they shouldn't be kept in an enclosure... wild animals are always going to be wild. If you were kept in a cage for days on end, you'd be feeling very claustrophobic and like a prisoner," she said.

Chipperfield in defense for what he does as a living, contested Holden saying "animals don't see the world" like people do. His response only irked the show host even more and the pair continued with their argument.

Holden cited her work with the "Born Free Foundation" where she experienced releasing caged lions and tigers into a wide enclosure. She said the animals were at a loss as to what they would do with the wide space given to them. Holden argued the lions and tigers "had no idea" that they could actually roam the whole expanse and instead settled to "walk the 30 feet" that they are accustomed to.

Seemingly unsatisfied with her opinion on animal rights, Chipperfield then reasoned and said, "I'm sorry to have to argue with you on this... forgive me but that is a double standard on your part."

The pair went back and forth exchanging their personal views about the safety of the lions. However, Schofiel thought it was enough with their argument already so decided to interject. Holden is then heard apologizing for her rant saying that she should just have kept her mouth shut.

According to the official website of "This Morning," Chipperfield has been touring the U.K. in an attempt to contest the government's ban against his family's business on lion circus. He is reportedly determined to prove that the lions in his circus are being treated well unlike what animal rights advocates are saying otherwise.
