Amy Adams Wants To Join Forces With Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Schumer
Looks like somebody is trying to get into the squad. Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer, care for another Amy to join the party?
The A-list gal pals Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer are definitely #squadgoals that they made "Batman v Superman" star Amy Adams thirst for an invitation to have her as a part of their dynamic duo. Speaking for the Hollywood Masters interview series while she promoted her up-and-coming movie, Adams shared that she would love to be Lawrence and Schumer's friend, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
"I'm waiting for Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer to invite me to their party!" Adams said. "So, I hope I was funny today so they will invite me to their next boating party."
Her longing may have been sparked by her perfectionist tendencies as she revealed in the interview. As sexism became more evident in Hollywood, so is her struggle to be free from her insecurity that she is not fit for the Hollywood red carpet.
"I have tried being perfect; it doesn't work, and it's very frustrating," she said. "But you do get inundated with, 'Be perfect on the red carpet,' and then you also have to show up on time, and you have all of these expectations that, the way that it's projected to us, are not expected from the male counterpart."
But Adams said that at the end of the day, gender-related comparisons should not be made and said it would be best to just "run your own race."
"Don't compare yourself to what men are getting or not getting, or what that girl's getting or what she looks like; just run your own race. Put your blinders on. You're not racing against anybody but yourself. I guess that's the more finite way to answer that question: only race against yourself."
The award-winning actress also justified why she is fit to be Lawrence and Schumer's friend and said: "I'm a little more neurotic than both of them. But I think that would be - they need a little of that, and they're both so cool and I could be the 'not-cool' person."
"Not cool"? That definitely has to be disagreed upon. While the actress, who is to star as Lois Lane in "Batman v Robin," think she was "not cool" enough, maybe she had just underestimated herself as she is overly capable of joining the tandem. She probably forgotten that she is a five-time Oscar nominee and that is more than enough for her to land along Lawrence and Schumer's seat.
Just like how Vulture would put it, Adams do not need to be like Cady Heron from "Mean Girls" trying her best to fit in the squad. Adams, alone, can define her own #squadgoals. Heck, she can stand alone and do as much as other tandems can do.
