Barnes & Noble Introduces New Nook E-Reader
Barnes & Noble is not about to limit their resources on paperbacks and third-party apps when it comes to selling their books.
According to Digital Trends, the popular bookseller recently introduced the newly updated Nook GlowLight called the Nook GlowLight Plus.
The Nook GlowLight Plus, a revamped version of its predecessor, gives practicality to its user with its dustproof and waterproof features. So why does an e-book reader have to be waterproof? Imagine wanting to read your favorite book while you're in the bathtub or lounging in the beach. With the new Nook GlowLight Plus, that will be possible.
The new Nook GlowLight Plus differ in terms of style as Barnes & Noble opted for an aluminum back plate design. The device comes in a bronze color despite having a plastic front part. This, however, presented a handy profile that gives a steady grip on the e-book reader.
The new Nook GlowLight Plus is also equipped with better pixels than its previous version and has a high-resolution E Ink screen with 300 dpi. The device also features adjustable lighting for dim environment or daylight reading. The font of the new "Nook GlowLight Plus" can also be interchanged with the "handcrafted fonts."
In terms of the device's battery life, the Nook GlowLight Plus battery can last up to six weeks, given that you set the brightness to 30 percent with an average of 30 minutes of reading time per day. The wireless connectivity must also be turned off in order to reach the maximum capacity.
According to a report from Business Wire, the new Barnes & Noble GlowLight Plus has a starting price of $129.99 and, is, by far, the bookseller's slimmest e-book reader with only 6.9 ounces in weight. It's Wi-Fi connectivity is also a plus.
The Nook GlowLight Plus will be available on Barnes & Noble's online stores starting Oct. 21 and will be made available on other Barnes & Noble retail stores soon.
The new e-book reader will not feature ads on its new Nook GlowLight Plus but will give recommendations about the latest books and magazines. Unlike Amazon, it frequently releases ads, bringing a rather disturbing feature on readers who wish to have quality time reading.
Meanwhile, those who are fans of the Nook GlowLight can visit the Barnes & Noble online store to check on their latest offerings.
