Asus has revealed the ZenWatch 2, which is much more comfortable than its predecessor and comes with some new features.

The company's first smartwatch had an interesting design, but it was not very comfortable, and did not have that many unique features.

The ZenWatch 2 is very affordable, just $129 for the rubber band and $149 for the leather band. The first ZenWatch started at a price of $199, according to Tech Radar.

Interested buyers are already jumping on this smartwatch, and it is currently sold out in the Google Play store.

The ZenWatch 2 will come in two sizes. Based on advertisements, it looks like the smaller size is meant for women. Asus probably wants the ZenWatch 2 to reach the widest market possible, so it is marketing it to both men and women.

The display for the smaller ZenWatch 2 is just 1.45 inches. It is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and has curved edges.

The original ZenWatch actually had a larger 1.63-inch screen and a sharper display. The resolution on the smaller ZenWatch 2 is 280 x 280 pixels at 273 pixels per inch, while the original ZenWatch is 320 x 320 pixels at 278 pixels per inch.

The larger ZenWatch 2 is the same 1.63 inches, but 277 pixels per inch. The small display makes the watch more comfortable on the wrist. Both versions of the watch also dropped in weight.

Asus included the same processor in the ZenWatch 2 that was used in the original, the Snapdragon 400. The device comes with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage space.

Built into the ZenWatch 2 is Bluetooth, WiFi and a microphone. These features will allow users to take advantage of the capabilities of the Android Wear operating system. Especially useful is the WiFi, which will allow customers to use their smartwatches without having their phones nearby. The ZenWatches are not really marketed as fitness tools, so the company decided to remove the heart rate monitor from the ZenWatch 2.

The battery life on the ZenWatch 2 has not improved much, lasting about two days before needing a charge. Charging will be fast, though, recharging in just 30 to 40 minutes.

The Asus ZenWatch 2 is available from online retailers starting at $129.
