Superbowl 50 next year may be one of the biggest yet and rumors have it that it can be an explosive mix of Adam Levine, Bruno Mars and Adele.

Levine and his Maroon 5 bandmates are in talks of front-running the most-watched television show next year, E! News exclusively reported, as the band has been said to be in serious negotiation with National Football League bosses. However, while a lot of fans are anticipating Levine and his crew to front-run the show, Levine & Co. are yet to confirm the rumored gig.

"Maroon 5 is just a rumor right now," the source revealed to Entertainment Tonight. "They have not been booked yet. It wouldn't be a surprise if they perform as part of the show, but they are not the headliner. There are a few performers this year."

Should the Grammy Award-winning band book the gig, they will succeed Katy Perry's high-octane performance last February which has earned her an Emmy nomination and has been the most-watch Superbowl performance of all time with 121 million viewers.

Billboard also reports that "Uptown Funk" singer Mars, who has been tapped to come back for the show after his high-rated 2014 performance, is set to "curate" the 2016 show and invite other big performers to join the rumored act of Maroon 5. Mars' performance two years ago has drawn over 115 million viewers, making 2014 show the second-most watched Superbowl performance after Perry's hit act in 2015.

One of the guests named to be invited by Mars is the British singer Adele, who is set to release her latest album "25" this November, as reported by Entertainment Tonight. If Adele makes it to the list of performers, it will be a lucrative and perfect moment for her to promote her "21" album follow-up in front of what may be the biggest audience she could have at one time.

"Bruno [Mars] was obsessed with having Adele join him two years ago but she wouldn't do it," says the source. "I'm not sure if he has spoken to her yet, but it would make sense since she has an album coming out."

Meanwhile, Business Standard reports that other performers rumored to perform in the next year's act also include British bands Coldplay and One Direction.

Along with Perry in the last Superbowl performance were Missy Elliot and Lenny Kravitz. Superbowl 50 will be held next year at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California in February 2016.
