Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5: PS3, Xbox 360 Release Date Delayed To Fix Issues Found on PS4, Xbox One Versions
The release date for the PS3 and Xbox 360 version of "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" has been delayed. The game is not coming on Nov. 10.
Activision is pushing back the release of PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of THPS5 because they are currently focusing on fixing issues found on the PS4 and Xbox One versions. "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" was made available to PS4 and Xbox One earlier this year.
However, those who are eagerly waiting for the release of the game for the older Sony and Microsoft consoles will have to wait longer. Eurogamer posted the official statement from game publisher Activision.
The company said that they are working closely with their developers, Robomodo and Disruptive Games to solve the issues. "Our development resources are fully focused on fixes and content updates for PS4 and Xbox One, so we have decided to delay the release of THPS5 on PS3 and X360," the statement read.
Fans will be updated about the new PS3 and Xbox 360 release schedule for "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" once new information comes up, Activision also noted.
The Eurogamer report specified that the latest version of the skateboarding video game is suffering from a number of performance issues, connectivity troubles and other kinds of glitches.
THPS5 also received poor reviews from various sites. For instance, GameRant gave it a Review Score of 1 of 5. Brad Jones of GameRant said that the attempt to revive the skateboarding video game "is not a success."
Jones further said that it fans of the previous versions will most likely see Tony Hawks' Pro Skater 5 as a "slap in the face."
According to the review, one of the worst things to find in THPS5 is the overhauled version of the classic School II stage. It provides similarities to the original version, however, the additions created for the School II are worse.
As for the positive side, Jones said that the first level in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 is "on the verge of being an enjoyable flashback." The first game level is based on the Warehouse and Hangar levels from the classic version.
Moreover, Gamespot gave a 3/10 rating for the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5. The review noted that Activision's THPS5 feels like an alpha release.
Though the core mechanics of the game are present, the "supporting systems are half-baked and rickety," Peter Brown of Gamespot said in his review made a few weeks ago.
