‘Hemlock Grove’ Releases New Trailer and Clip For Finale Season on Netflix [WATCH]
Netflix's "Hemlock Grove" has featured some of the most disturbingly beautiful content on television, but Season 3 is going to be the last and, judging by the trailer for the finale run, it is going to be the main event for the show.
According to an interview on Variety, the show's executive producer and originator of the "torture porn" sub-genre of horror, Eli Roth, said some moments of the season are cringe-worthy even for him.
"It goes in weird directions that had even me shocked," Roth revealed to Variety. "What's fun about the show is how off-the-wall nuts and bizarre it is. It's really fun and twisted and terrific."
That description is an understatement to say the least. The show has taken viewers on an exceptionally disturbing journey over the past two seasons that have left fans a little shaken.
A good example of this is when a vampire on the show seduces a girl, as Roth said, that is menstruating. But what he does next is not just the seduction or the sex, but he rather goes down to give the girl oral pleasure.
It's moments like those that make the viewer cringe and tingle all over their body. The show is jammed pack with those kinds of themes set against the backdrop of a small Pennsylvania town that is dominated by a large corporation that performs inhuman experiments.
What's even more liberating for the show is that it is on Netflix, where the FCC cannot get their censoring hands around it.
"I got really, really lucky to have my first television experience be with Netflix," Roth said. "I'm kind of sad it's coming to an end... But we got three fantastic seasons of the weirdest, craziest, sex-and-violence-filled shows ever and I'm really proud of it."
Fans can watch the newest trailer for the show below and there is also a chilling clip from the series finale below that. Viewer Discretion Advised.
