Apparently "The Walking Dead" star Lauren Cohan likes to keep her work close to home with a new horror film coming out titled "The Boy." There has also been a new trailer drop for the film.

According to Deadline, since the trailer dropped just a few days ago it has been viewed nearly 5 million times and has already gotten social media talking about it. That is not usually the case with horror films, but the same thing could be said about horror-themed TV shows as well. The case and point here is that "The Walking Dead" is the highest-rated show on television and has been for three years now.

So it might be Cohan's star power that is driving the masses to her new film trailer, but the film itself is quite a creepy piece.

According to the IMDb, the film is about an American nanny (Cohan) who has taken to the English countryside to take care of a young boy. There is a specific set of instructions that his parents give her in regards to his care, but there is also a very terrifying revelation when she learns that the boy is not a real boy at all, but rather a life-sized doll.

The parents then go away and leave her alone with the boy and she simply dismisses their instructions on what she must do to care for him, given that he is not real. Of course, that is when the real horror kicks into high gear. Strange occurrences start happening around the large house that they are staying in and she cannot make sense of things. The events obviously lead to dire consequences for the young girl.

The film will premiere in theaters on Jan. 22, 2016.
