'Marvel's Agents of SHIELD' Season 3 Sneak Peek: Jemma Simmons' Ordeal Shown in '4,722 Hours' [Photos]
Jemma Simmons' ordeal in the other dimension she went to, will be shown in the fifth episode of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." this season three titled "4,722 Hours."
Photos of Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) trapped in the other world, where she was transported into by the Kree monolith that swallowed her last season, were released by ABC Network and featured on Comic Book. Images revealed the gifted biochemist in a very distressed state, probably after seeing what appeared to be a human skeleton buried in the loose soil of the other world.
The title of the episode also suggested that she could have stayed there for more than 196 days or for over six and a half months.
The site also posted the synopsis for the next episode, which was written by Craig Titley and directed by Jesse Bochco. The synopsis said: "After her dramatic rescue from another planet, Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) is still reeling from her ordeal and reveals how she had to fight for her life in a harsh new world."
Here is a sneak peek of the episode posted on YouTube:
Simmons' mission
Henstridge already disclosed on Entertainment Weekly that Simmons is suffering from a post-traumatic stress disorder due to the hardship she experienced in the other dimension.
"She has PTSD. She's been through something, which, for her especially, was just unthinkable. She's not been sure about any of the Inhuman stuff or the alien everything. Now all of a sudden she experiences it. Not to say that she's an Inhuman, but she has experienced alien things first hand and it has changed her," Henstridge said.
In the fourth episode of the series, "Devils You Know," Simmons also admitted to Dr. Andrew (Blair Underwood) that she already gave up hope when she was trapped in the other planet, noted a separate article from Comic Book. Although the scientist did not reveal what circumstances actually led her to that state of mind.
Yet, what fans would like to see next episode is if S.H.I.E.L.D.'s engineer and Simmons' trustworthy lab partner Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), who already discovered that Simmons' immediate mission is to open the portal again, will gladly join her in her plan. If they do, it will be really interesting for the viewers to witness the genius of these two scientists working well to defeat or overcome whatever troubling Simmons every single day.
The "4,722 Hours" episode of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will be televised on ABC on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. ET.
