Chris Brown In Trouble Again: Singer Allegedly Involved In Hit-And-Run
Chris Brown has been in the news quite a bit as of late, but rarely has it been for the right reasons. He is apparently keeping that streak aliv, as a simple fender bender may have landed him in some serious trouble.
Reports are coming in that while Brown and his girlfriend Karreuche Tran were in Toluca Lake, Calif. last Tuesday, Brown rammed into the back of a black Mercedes-Benz. The situation went from bad to worse when the international pop star allegedly left the scene of the incident without properly giving his information.
"What could have been a simple fender bender earlier this week is now a full-blown hit-and-run investigation ... after Chris Brown allegedly refused to give the driver he rear-ended his driver's license #. We're told he also gave the woman incorrect insurance info," celebrity gossip site TMZ reported.
Brown is still on probation for his altercation with fellow superstar and former girlfriend Rihanna back in 2009. In that incident he was accused of battery and has had quite a bit of controversy attached to his name ever since.
Brown could face a prison term of up to four years in jail if he is found guilty of violating his probation due to the hit-and-run. That being said, he does not appear to be too worried, and sources close to the star do not indicate that he is likely to be in any long-term trouble.
"Our sources also say that neither Chris, nor anyone in his camp, has been contacted by the LAPD so far. We're told Chris feels the photo below (taken at the scene of the accident) shows there was no damage to the other car," TMZ claimed in a follow-up article.
TMZ is also reporting that Brown has claimed that he did give the woman he hit all of the correct information. He went on to say that his lawyer has since reached out to the woman, who was unreceptive and immediately hung up the phone. Calls to Brown's lawyer for comment have not yet been returned.
