'Captain America: Civil War' News, Rumors: Fan-Made Title Sequence Surfaces [Watch]
Anticipation for Marvel's next big film, "Captain America: Civil War," has ratcheted up in recent months, prompting one fan to create an opening credit sequence for the upcoming film.
The opening sequence is often one of the most interesting aspects of a Marvel movie. In some ways, the openings have developed the same level of appreciation among fans as "James Bond" opening credits. The sequences have become stamps of Marvel's creative output.
Fans are excitedly awaiting the next "Captain America" film to see the battle between former friends, even creating their own fan-made opening sequences in anticipation.
Saruhan Saral, known by the username mightyraccoon! on YouTube, created a video that is garnering a tremendous amount of views, and for good reason. In two minutes, the video captures the rivalry brewing in the Avengers' ranks, while cleverly setting up other characters.
The opening images are rather predictable: Captain America followed by Iron Man. However, a spotlight is then placed on the Winter Soldier, before we get another wonderful image. This time it is the Black Widow and Hawkeye standing side by side, as one might expect, but with their backs to one another, confirming their differing allegiances in the film.
Other major characters come into view, including Falcon alongside Ant-Man, Scarlet Witch with Vision, War Machine with Crossbones, as well as Black Panther and Spider-Man near the end. There is also an image of General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross and Agent 13.
The upcoming movie is essentially an "Avengers" movie in all but name, as it features almost all of the major superheroes from the ensemble films with the exceptions of the Incredible Hulk and Thor. Hulk was reportedly expected to appear in this film, but ultimately did not make the cut. Thor was never in the plans for the film and instead will get his own solo picture.
"Captain America: Civil War" comes out on May 6, 2016.
