Colombian television personality Ximena Córdoba took part in her last show on "Despierta América" on Monday before she moves on to the next stage in her career.

After two years as the weather anchor on popular morning Spanish-language talk show "Despierta América," Córdoba said goodbye to her fellow presenters, as she moves to a new gig on fellow Univision talk show "El Gordo y la Flaca."

According to People en Español, the 35-year-old host revealed that her choice to leave has to do with her career background.

"A chapter in my life is opened, I am going to go 'El Gordo y la Flaca,'" the actress said. "I am really happy because it is a new opportunity for me. A lot of people don't know but I studied journalism, I have been a presenter for so many years for entertainment, for film; I am passionate about all that is presentation."

The actress and television personality took to Instagram to thank her coworkers and fans for their support.

"Today I say goodbye to 'Despierta América' with a lot of gratitude that doesn't fit in my heart. Throughout the time that i worked with this marvelous group I learned a lot, I enjoyed myself a lot and all of you inspired me to dream harder everyday. Thank you @despiertaamericatv I love you," she captioned her goodbye post on Instagram.

Córdoba also took the time to introduce her new television family on her Instagram account.

"I am really happy to be a part of the family of @elgordoylaflaca gracias @univision" she captioned an image that was originally posted by the "El Gordo y la Flaca" Instagram account welcoming her to the team.

Before appearing on "Despierta América," Córdoba appeared on TeleFutura, Para Ver TV and Fox Deportes. Córdoba currently also hosts "TNT Movie Club" on TNT.
