This Thursday, Fox will air its highly anticipated two-hour crossover between "Bones" and "Sleepy Hollow," which promises to be mysterious, weird, wacky and fun.

The intriguing holiday-themed episode, which is titled "The Resurrection in the Remains," includes Halloween pranks, a 200-year-old headless corpse and a guest appearance by "Sleepy Hollow" stars Tom Mison and Nicole Beharie, according to Screen Spy.

Ichabod Crane (Mison) and Abbie Mills (Beharie) pay a visit to the Jeffersonian Institution in order to claim a headless body being investigated by Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and her team.

"Immediately, we think it's the Headless Horseman," Mison told Entertainment Weekly, which is why the "Sleepy" duo arrive to claim the body.

However, Brennan and Booth's (David Boreanaz) first encounter with Ichabod and Abbie is awkward, and Ichabod is mistaken for a cosplayer. Plus, Mison warns that Booth and Ichabod "don't like each other instantly." Booth also makes "subtle insults at Ichabod, who is trying to maintain his manners and respond in front of these two ladies," Mison said, adding, "It makes for quite a nice dynamic."

On the other hand, Brennan and Ichabod will hit it off pretty quickly.

"Brennan is one of the few people who can look at Ichabod Crane as the guy who's wearing this 18th-century outfit, and she just doesn't even mind that," executive producer Michael Peterson told TVGuide. "That, to her, is completely off her radar. He really is an 18th-century squint, and she loves that. He's a man who's out of time, but he was a scholar, and they get along very, very well as a result of that."

Mison also pointed out that Ichabod and Brennan are so similar, "they're always trying to one-up each other intellectually. That makes for a good battle."

However, for the sake of the case, Brennan and Booth must learn to work with Ichabod and Abbie in order to figure out how 234-year-old remains are linked to a contemporary murder victim.

In the "Sleepy Hollow" episode, Booth and Brennan have a hard time accepting Ichabod and Abbie's supernatural explanation for a mysterious death that flummoxes the FBI. However, Abbie, a newly minted FBI agent -- finds herself right at home working with Booth to crack the case.

"Her dream, more or less, was to be Booth," Peterson said. "She wanted forever to be an FBI agent and to be doing these big, high-profile cases, so they, too, have this great relationship."

The episodes also reveals that Abbie and Booth both have ties to late FBI agent August Corbin (Clancy Brown), TVGuide reported. Corbin's past also becomes very important to Abbie's future.

Peterson also stated that in the crossover, both shows remain true to their styles.

"We're not going to have ghosts flying through the lab or anything like that," he said. "It's going to be a 'Bones' show with 'Sleepy Hollow' elements to it. It was just great that the characters meshed up in such a way, and that's really been the highlight."

According to CarterMatt, the synopsis for the upcoming episode states:

"It's Halloween time at The Jeffersonian, as the team gets a surprise visit from newly minted FBI Agent Abbie Mills (guest star Nicole Beharie) and Ichabod Crane (guest star Tom Mison), who have traveled from Sleepy Hollow to claim a headless body already under investigation by Brennan and her team. The new foursome must figure out how to work together to discover who the 200-year-old headless corpse is, and how it is linked to a contemporary murder victim. Meanwhile, Booth and Brennan come up with the ultimate Halloween pranks to play on each other in the special."

Episode 5 of Season 11 of "Bones" will air on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
