18.4-Inch Samsung Galaxy View Release Date Revealed; Monster Tablet Priced at $599
Samsung's biggest tablet yet is arriving next month! Samsung Galaxy View's official release date has been revealed.
The upcoming Samsung tablet which has a massive widescreen display size of 18.4 inches is set for November 6 arrival. According to CNET, the Samsung Galaxy View comes with a price tag worth $599.
As for the Samsung Galaxy View's official release date and pricing in the United Kingdom and Australia, the report noted that details have not yet been confirmed.
The 2.64-kilogram heavy tablet, according to the post is aimed particularly for watching a video. Even though this is something doable on smaller tablets or even smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy View's whopping display size "will make movies and TV shows a lot more immersive," the post explained.
The Verge also noted that the Samsung Galaxy View made for video binging is "more TV than a tablet." It also features a custom home screen which is filled with various video applications such as Hulu, Youtube and Netflix.
When users swipe to the next screen, they will see the usual Android home screen. The report from The Verge also noted that the monster table supports side-by-side apps as well as other mobile features offered by Samsung like SideSync.
When it comes to Samsung Galaxy View's hardware specs, GSM Arena noted that it is equipped with Exynos 7580 chipset paired with an Octa-core processor Cortex-A53 clock at 1.6 GHz. Moreover, it sports the Mali-T720MP2 for the GPU.
It offers a 1080p x 1920p screen resolution with a pixel density of 120 ppi. Out of the box, the Samsung Galaxy View runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Accordingly, the battery can last for 8 hours for multimedia use.
For the storage, it offers 32 GB of internal memory and 2 GB of RAM. But a micro SD card slot is available for storage expansion of up to 128 GB, the GSM Arena's specs list for the tablet also specified.
The primary camera has only 2.1 MP sensor. Unlike most Samsung's mobile devices, the Galaxy View does not have a secondary camera.
Being the biggest Android mobile device soon to be available on the market, the Samsung Galaxy View is expected to deliver "an unprecedented mobile entertainment experience by streaming video and media content," the post from Samsung Tomorrow read. A bliss for all the couch potato out there, this tablet "lets consumers seamlessly experience the best in video and media from a range of television and other service providers."
