'Real Housewives of New York,' Bethenny Frankel News: Reality Star to Appear on Several 'Beverly Hills' Episodes
Bethenny Frankel has been cast to cross over from her "Real Housewives of New York" show to star in an upcoming episode of Bravo network's "Beverly Hills" sister show.
E! News reports Frankel will make the "RHOBH" Season 6 switch during a series of shows previously filmed in the Hamptons, where the 44-year-old Skinnygirl mogul owns a home.
Word is Frankel and fellow "Real Housewives" veteran Kyle Richards bonded over a stressful period for Richards, largely brought on by sister Kim's legal and drug related issues.
"Bethenny was Bethenny," a source said of her appearance on a different set and with an unfamiliar cast. "She was very direct with everyone. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind."
Frankel has a friendly history with the Richards sister, but that hasn't prevented her in the past from criticizing them whenever she felt the need. During an April appearance on "Watch What Happens Live," she insisted to host and Bravo honcho Andy Cohen that fame was at least partly responsible for their struggles.
"They're in a town where money and attention and fame are really prevalent, and I think it's like an alternative universe," she said. "They're living this, but then they're also living it in the press, on Instagram, on Twitter. It's a really, really murky, and I don't know how they're going to get out of it. Being on television together ... it doesn't seem like it's going in a good direction."
More recently, Frankel has been forced to face her own headwinds, as disputes over issues like money and contracts have reportedly stalled filming on the new season of "RHONY."
Reports are cast members Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan are all refusing to film until they receive raises more on par with the $1 million per season Frankel is rumored to earn.
