Wi-Fi calling is a handy feature, and T-Mobile subscribers will soon be able to enjoy the perk with the release of the CyanogenMod 13. Cyanogen opened the doors for custom software and operating systems, and, now, more people might begin to consider giving it a try.

According to a report from Phone Arena, Cyanogen employee Roman Birg leaked a screenshot that showed T-Mobile Wi-Fi calling available on a custom Android ROM. Birg added that the device featured was powered by the yet-to-be-released CyanogenMod 13 and the Wi-Fi calling feature emerged with the use of the AOSP (Android Open Source Project) code.

The CyanogenMod 13 is based on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Although there have been no confirmations on the release date of CyanogenMod 13, news is expected to be divulged on the alpha and beta releases soon. In a post at the official CyanogenMod blog last month, "ciwrl" wrote, "Marshmallow source just released, we are syncing and will begin evaluating it. When we have more to share on this, we will publish a separate post."

As fans of the free community-built ROM wait on the 13th installment, the company expanded its device support list to include mid-range handsets from various brands. According to the official blog, support is now available for the following devices: Huawei Honor 4 and 4x, Huawei Ascend Mate 2, Huawei Snapto, Motorola Moto E, Motorola G, Xiaomi Mi3w, Xiaomi Mi4 and more.

The blog revealed, "Over the past few months, device maintainers new and old have been pushing hard to get support up to par for a wide range of devices. While some flagships (M9/S6/G4, etc) still need more time in the proverbial oven, we've seen a large increase in the medium range devices."

Aside from the upcoming CyanogenMod 13, the company is also currently working with the YU brand in India for the upcoming handset Yutopia. There have been rumors of the collaboration being canceled — especially with Cyanogen's breakup with OnePlus — but the team quickly shut down the speculation.

"We have a great partnership with YU, and happy to announce that Cyanogen OS 12.1 will be powering YU's upcoming flagship — Yutopia," a representative from Cyanogen Inc. told Android Police in an official statement. "We'll also be rolling out the latest 12.1 update to Yureka / Yureka Plus very soon. It doesn't always makes sense for us to support every device in a partner's portfolio, and there are one-off model variations. We want to put the unfounded rumors to rest."
