Developers are not the only ones cashing in on the Flappy Bird spinoff frenzy.

Fall Out Boy made news this week and it had nothing to do with a new album or song. Rather, the rock band announced an update to their version of a Flappy Bird spinoff, which is aptly named Fall Out Bird.

The app has already been around for a bit, but the band took to Facebook this week to announce a special update for it.

"Fall Out Bird 2.0 coming soon with new gameplay, new hazards + much more! look out for it on iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Amazon App Store. get your flappy on," the social media post said.

As far as the original version of the game, there still is no word about whether or not creator Dong Nguyen plans to bring back the app. During an interview with Rolling Stone earlier this month, Nguyen said that he would consider bringing the game back, but this is all up in the air as of now.

For those of you who are still hoping to get the game, unfortunately the app store is not an option since the game was taken down several weeks ago. However, you can still get the game via the iOS 7 jailbreak. The downside to this, of course, is that you have to actually jailbreak your device and this is not the most desirable thing to do just for a simple game. With this being said, this is still an option and the best part about it is that you can have even more success with the jailbroken version because it is said to have special hacks that allow you to flap your bird through the entire map without any obstacles. This, of course, allows people to get the insane high scores.
