Android M 6.0 Marshmallow Update Release Date: Huawei Honor 7 Phones Getting Beta Soon, OTA Rollout For Others by February
Android M, or Android 6.0 Marshmallow, is in its rollout phase, now that the Huawei-made Nexus 6P and the Google Nexus 5X are hitting the public and Android M has begun rolling out to other first-in-line Nexus devices.
For Huawei Honor 7 owners, it now appears that Android 6.0 Marshmallow could be coming in the next few weeks, albeit in beta form. On top of that, Huawei has disclosed the release date window for other Honor smartphone variants, which will begin getting the massive Android M OTA rollout in February of 2015.
The news of the February rollout for most Huawei Honor phones comes from the company's Honor India Twitter account (via Phone Arena), which announced, "Coming soon! Starting February 2016, we will be rolling out Android M to honor phones."

The February 2016 Android 6.0 Marshmallow rollout will include the top level Huawei Honor 7, as well as the Huawei Honor 4C, Huawei Honor 4X, Huawei Honor 6 and Huawei Honor 6 Plus. Android Authority additionally reported that Huawei confirmed it was planning to launch a beta version of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update that will be available to "select Honor 7 users" in the upcoming weeks.
But the Honor smartphones are not the only Huawei models that will eventually receive the Android M upgrade. As Latin Post recently reported, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer announced a list of Huawei smartphones that are slated for the update release, though Huawei offered no specifics on the timing of the OTA rollout.
On the update list are the most popular Huawei smartphones from the Ascend and Mate series, including the Huawei Ascend P8, Huawei Ascend P8Max, the Huwaei Mate S, the Huawei P8, the Huawei Ascend G7, the Huawei Ascend G7 Plus, and the Huawei Ascend G8. The company's MediaPad X2 and Honor 7i are also slated for the upgrade eventually.
