Donald Trump, John Oliver Smack Down: Trump Won't Appear in Oliver's 'Boring' 'Last Week Tonight' Show
Another day, another Trump war.
Republican Presidential nominee and business mogul Donald Trump is in a fight again and this time, he encountered a not-so-unfamiliar foe -- "Last Week Tonight" host John Oliver.
The scuffle between the two reignited again, when the host said in "CBS This Morning" on Friday that he does not want Trump in his HBO talk show, adding that "really care about him in any capacity," as per Hollywood Reporter.
Aside from the fact that Trump had been a rival of the CBS host, Rolling Stone reports that Oliver explained that he does not want Trump in his show because he said he does not have anything to say to Trump. "He's said everything he wants to say. He has no internal monologue, so it's not like you're going to find the secret nugget he's been holding back," Oliver said.
The host fiercely added that Trump can be compared to an open book and said that "that book does not have many interesting words in it."
But, not so fast for Oliver. Trump, as per usual, always have an innate need to respond and retaliate.
In his favorite social media platform, the business mogul took an aim and jabbed Oliver with his statement the day after the latter lashed out on Trump. "John Oliver had his people call to ask me to be on his very boring and low-rated show," Trump disparagingly said. "I said 'NO THANKS' Waste of time & energy!"
But, it does not end there for Oliver. After Trump tweeted his comeback on Saturday, "Last Week Tonight" responded to Trump's words, and cleared that they did not really invite the presidential bet, contrary to what he has been claiming.
Ever since Trump had announced his aim to seize post in the Oval Office, the business mogul had a pretty numerous foes, including some in the media. Aside from Oliver, Trump engaged in word war against Megyn Kelly, Meghan McCain, Barry Diller and Jorge Ramos. Trump also had a feud with Fox News and ultimately pushed him to "boycott" the news organization because of their "bias reportage."
Aside from being in a scuffle with media, fellow politicians were also a favorite of Trump, as he had clashed with Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and others. Although he claimed that Latino people love him, the presidential nominee also earned the ire of Latinost after he gave racist comments about Mexicans and other Latinos.
