MLB has released all the 139 players eligible for the 2016 Free Agency with teams starting the negotiations and signings on Nov. 7. However, still not on the list is pitching ace Zack Greinke, but he will opt out of his contract, and the 2014 World Series champions San Francisco Giants are interested in prying him away from rivals Los Angeles Dodgers.

According to an earlier report by CBS Sports, Greinke will opt out of the last three years of his contract and become a free agent once again, with the Toronto Blue Jays, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, and New York Yankees also reportedly interested. He signed a six-year, $147 million contract in 2012 with the LA Dodgers, per MLB.com.

The New York Post noted that the 32-year-old pitcher is looking to get more money than the $71 million remaining on his contract with Los Angeles. The 2009 AL Cy Young winner had a great season and one of the frontrunners to win the 2015 Cy Young Award along with teammate Clayton Kershaw and the Chicago Cubs' Jake Arrieta.

Greinke won 19 games and lost only three times. He had a league-leading 1.66 ERA, per Baseball-Reference.com. The Giants, who missed the postseason, are looking to continue the trend of winning World Series titles by adding a starting pitcher to pair with left-handed ace Madison Bumgarner.

John Shea of The San Francisco Chronicles reported via Bleacher Report that Greinke likes San Francisco. He pointed out the he likes pitching at AT&T Park, having a 1.78 ERA in four starts there. The 32-year-old right-hander also liked working with manager Bruce Bochy and Buster Posey back at the All-Star Game.

Bochy chose Greinke over Bumgarner to start the game and liked Posey catching and framing his pitches. He also added that he was confused on who to root for in last year's World Series between the Giants and his former team, the Kansas City Royals.

In a separate report by Bleacher Report, the Giants would have to increase their budget to have a chance in outbidding the financially secure Dodgers. According to one NL scout, if San Francisco can get Greinke away from the Los Angeles, the Giants are on track to make it to the 2016 postseason.

The report added that by signing with the Giants, it would give Greinke a better supporting cast in terms of team rotation, a better bullpen and a better front office. If either the Giants or Dodgers signs the 32-year-old, the losing team could turn their attention on left-handed ace David Price.
