Leah Remini's Claims on Tom & Katie's Wedding is Nothing Like You've Imagined
In a recent revelation by former Scientology member Leah Remini on Tom Cruise and Katie Holme's wedding, she said that after donating $1 million to the International Association of Scientology, Remini was allowed to meet Tom Cruise.
She wrote that she felt privileged just knowing that she's fit to meet the most popular member of the Church of Scientology.
ET Online featured what seemed to be a controversial revelation of an ex-Scientology member, all exposed in a book titled "Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology." Remini also revealed how she felt uncomfortable seeing Tom and Katie for the first time, a rather odd couple where Katie was obviously manhandled by the actor.
Genuine as it may seem, Remini's invitation to Cruise and Holme's wedding was not without a catch. They asked her if she could also invite her friends Jennifer Lopez and her now ex-husband Marc Anthony.
Whatever their purpose of inviting the couple without personally knowing them is unclear, but their eagerness to make them stay longer at the reception was something new. Surprisingly, Brooke Shields were one of the invited guests, something that is quite odd after the two made headlines battling over issues on anti-depressants.
Cruise probably had the longest 20 minutes of his life as he waited that long before Katie made her grand entrance. Remini said that at one point, Lopez leaned over to asked whether Katie's going to show up.
Accusations about Remini's bad behavior after the wedding also came up, to which the actress and former Scientology member said that she was forced to apologize to the bride.
The Church of Scientology claimed that Remini's revelations were all based on her "insatiable craving for attention" and that she's doing this prior to her pending removal from the church because of ethical lapses.
In a separate report by ET Online, Remini granted an interview with "Good Morning America," where the host read Katie's apology to her. In the statement, it said "I regret having upset Leah in the past and wish her only the best in the future."
Remini now understood where Katie is coming from and has revealed that the reason why they had somehow patched their misunderstanding is the fact that they both left the church in search of better surroundings.
She said, "I'm smiling because it almost makes me want to cry and now, I know really what she is going through." She also thinks that Katie suffered more than her and that leaving Scientology saved her daughter Suri.
