Carly Rae Jepsen Releases ‘Your Type’ Music Video
Carly Rae Jepsen on Tuesday released the music video for her new track "Your Type."
The 29-year-old Canadian singer debuted the new music video for the track, which appears on her latest album, "Emotion," according to Billboard.
In the beginning of the clip, Jepsen is seen walking down a street before sitting down and falling asleep on a bench. Once her eyes are closed, someone snatches her headphones from her bag. She wakes up, realizes the headphones are gone and runs after the thieves, but she's unable to catch them in time.
The second scene in the video features a karaoke bar, where Jepsen is seen singing to a room that's mostly empty. At first she's dressed casually on stage, donning a modest Cinderella tiara.
But then the scene changes. Jepsen sports a more glamorous outfit with face glitter and silver high-heeled shoes, while performing for a room filled with dancing people. At the end of the video, the singer reverts back to her previous casual look. However, as she walks out, the viewer sees she is still wearing the silver shoes from her fairytale daydream.
The whimsical character in the video isn't a stretch for Jespen to play, as she previously took on the titular role in Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella" on Broadway this past February.
The singer is about to head out on her Gimme Love tour, which will see her playing shows Nov. 9 through Nov. 13 in Washington, D.C., Boston, New York and Philadelphia. Her next tour stops after her U.S. leg include dates in Japan and Canada, which run through next spring.
Jepsen released her third studio album, "Emotion," on June 24. The album has so far produced the singles "I Really Like You" and "Run Away with Me." It is the follow-up to 2012's "Kiss," which produced the singles "Call Me Maybe," "Good Time," "The Kiss" and "Tonight I'm Getting Over You."
